Inside Cover

I finally got a chance to work on the inside cover of the book. I had to redo the picture because I gracefully spilled water on the first one, of course that was after I hand beaded her collar and did her ribbon roses in her hair! So it was start all over again!! Under the picture it says Days gone by, I am not sure if you can read it because it's done in a real light pink. All I have to do now is the back cover and I am done!!! Can't wait!! Not sure what I am gonna put there yet but it will come to me. Well until next time... Craft on... Terry!

Second Filet Crochet

I finally finished my filet crochet today!!! This is the second one I've ever done and it's bigger then the first by far. I wanted to finish it in time to put in the fair this year. Now I can get back to my altered book, I am almost done with that also. Then I really need to get back to the 3 sister's round robin quilt....another story for another time.
Well till next time

Wedding Day

This page will be the last page of this book. If I keep going the book will not close. lol. I like alot of embelishments on my pages which only gives me a limited amout of room inside the book. I will try and get the inside cover page done so I can put the book back together again. (I took the book cover off the book when I did this to cover it in fake leather material) I have to keep putting in a round the pages to make sure it will close with no trouble. I hope to get that done this weekend then I can post a picture of it all put back in place.
Well till next time..

Welcome Coffee Table Runner

This is the first filet crochet I've ever done in my life. I was so proud of myself when I finished it! From that point on I was hooked (no pun intended) I have knitted for many years...my Mom taught me, but I tried to crochet and I just never could get it. Years later my sister, Debbie, was teaching classes on crochet (by the way she is very talanted at this, she has won many, many ribbons, she creates her own designs and she has been published!) so I couldn't ask for a better teacher. She finally convinced me to go to her class and try to learn. I did and not only did I learn how to crochet I also had a really great time, met a lot of nice ladies and found out Debbie is a very good teacher, among the other things she fits into her life!! (If you get a chance visit her site...it's on my link)
I just finished another filet crochet project the other day and I will post it as soon as I can.
Till next time

Beaded purse pin

This is the second purse pin I've made, the first one I ever tried is in my altered book. I really like this one because of the color and design. I am "working" on a red one in my "spare" time lol. I plan on entering this in the fair also.
Till next time

Another Page Done

I am not happy with the way the picture of this page turned out, it looks a lot better in person but maybe someday I will try to get a better one taken of it. I made the beaded knit purse and the glove. It is a really pretty page but this picture dosen't do it justice. Oh well on to some more crafting.
Until next time. Take Care

My Sister's Garden

I finished another page and I named it my sister's garden because the rose is one she gave me that she grew in her garden and she also gave me the butterfly. She grows the prettiest flowers and plants!!!
The little girl looks like her when she was a young. Well still working on yet another page, will post it when I get done.

Stop The Press!!

I had to stop everything and make a gift for a really good friend of mine. I forgot it was her birthday (had it on the calender and everything) Of course it was to late in the day to go buy anything, so I had to come up with something I could make. Elephant it is!!! I made him out of towels, (they were new ones, thanks to a sister!!) put some sunglasses on him and a glass rose in his hand. Of course I had to make a homemade card too. (I'm so slack sometimes) Well she seemed to like it and I guess it looks like an elephant! Well back to my book....

Front Of Mom Tag

This is the front of the tag I made about my Mom, it was really hard to get everything on it that reminded me of her. She was a very creative lady and is missed dearly. I was working on this for a tag book with my Mom,Dad,Mother-in-law and Father-in-law in it. Of course I got side tracked (hence the name neverfinishprojects) I will get back to these hopefully soon. But I am really trying to finish my altered book right now.
Well till next time,

Back Of Tag For Mom

This is the back of a tag I made about my Mom. The message to the side goes in the envolope on the tag. ( On one side it says) "Never pass up a chance to say" (On the other side) "I love you. I was totally shocked when I went to one of my groups and it was featured on the Home page art. Wow that made me feel good!!!!

It needed something...

I just wasn't happy without putting something else on this page...so I added a bottle with some old cures in it...(medicine is fake of course) I like it alot better with the bottle but then again I like alot of embelishments on things. You can also see the little book of cures I made up a little better in this photo.
I have already started on the third page...we'll see how that turns out.
Till next time, Take Care

Another Page!!!

I can't say I was planning on working on another page of my book today but that is what happens...when you have grown kids you tend to ajust to their schedule sometimes. (Which is o.k. don't mind spending time in my craft room.) This page is of Emily Barker, I am related to her way down the line....she's my Great, Great, Great,Great, Great Grandmother (I hope I got the number of Greats right.) on my Mother's side of the family. I have a cook book with her picture in it and it also has some really old cures for sicknesses back in the 1900. I decided to make a small book of the cures and put a picture of her with it. It is really interesting what they used back then.
Hope you enjoy it. Tell next time,
Take Care,
Terry

First page

Well I can finally say I finished the first page I was working on in my altered book. I showed it to my family they seemed to like it...my son-in-laws comment was "I don't understand why your doing it, but it's pretty."
I guess you have to be into this kinda thing to get it.
I also finished my filet crochet (thanks to my sisters help with the edging) I swear I have a block on putting an edging around crochet work...so she walked me through that. (Thanks Deb) Maybe now I can enter that into the fair also. I will post a picture of that when I get it cleanned up and blocked.
I started on my second page to my book...we'll see how that turns out.
Well till next time

Altered Book I'm working on..

This is what I'm working on at the minute. It is the first altered book I've ever done...learning as I go but I am enjoying every minute of it. I am wanting to get it done by the fair this year so I can enter it.
